About me

 

I grew up in Humboldt County from 2nd grade through High School.  I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and then worked in industry for 6 years before attending San Diego State to obtain my teaching credential in physical science and mathematics.  My wife and I have been married for 21 years and have two children, Josey (age 19) is now attending Gonzaga University, and Jack (age 15) is a Sophomore here at Mack High. This is my 29th year at MHS and I am currently the Science Club and Interact Club faculty advisor.

For students, you should be pre-enrolled in your Google Classroom*.  If, however, you need to join, email me for codes.
 
Assignments:for each upcoming week will be posted by 6:00 pm on Wednesday
  • Classwork - which will attempted/completed during the 90-minute blocks and will include assessments
  • Homework - any work that was not completed during the 90-minute blocks
 
Assignments will be turned in through Google Classroom* and will be due Wednesdays by 6:00 pm to close out one week before the next week begins
 
[ * From personal experience, the Google Classroom App is not as effective as accessing Google Classroom through a web browser ]

Office hours: During virtual learning:

  • Periods 1,2, and 3 Wednesday 9:00 to 11:00 AM
    • preference will be given to Physics from 9-9:30, Int 1 9:30-10, Geology 10-10:30, and open 10:30-11
  • Periods 4 and 5 Wednesday 1:00 to 3:00
    • preference will be given to Int 1 from 1-1:30, Geology 1:30-2, and open 2:00-3:00
