good afternoon McKinleyville High School Panthers a happy Friday I am recording this for my Friday weekly video and I apologize it's coming out late I actually recorded one this morning and unfortunately was like 12 minutes long and could not get it uploaded onto our website there's a couple reasons for the length of that I wanted to take this opportunity this morning or this afternoon out really honor or I know right now is difficult for all of us in in and on many different levels and there's a lot of stress and difficulty with distance learning and everything else that's going on the world I just really wanted to bring the message how many good things are also happening within our school community and how many amazing students we have so I wanted to First just acknowledge a couple of students wanted to acknowledge Maritza Solano is a senior here between legal high school she is our school board rep she has done an amazing job all year as of the board rep she has to attend every board meetings sometimes being and she does a great job representing our school voicing our students thoughts and concerns and helping making big decisions you know that impact more than just students alone and so really appreciate her for all that work and she's going to continue to do some research to your awesome preciate you so much I also wanted to let everybody know that Hannah Alto another one of our amazing seniors has made it all the way through FSA to be placed on the state ballot which we voted on today 1 of 12 candidates will be 6 pit to actually represent FFA at the state level again just like represent our school so well and so again just one acknowledge that she's doing amazing things and will be a great representative and you deserve it and I know you'll be a great representative for students all over California but take care of we McKinleyville and then the other Pisa wanted to recognize is every year of world languages program does a great job preparing students to work to achieve the Seal of by literacy so you know honoring that opportunity to prove that they've I'll become proficient in a second language language teachers always do a great job in particular this year mrs. benavidez guard has done a wonderful job we have 13 seniors in the seals by literacy and I wanted to acknowledge that I'm so Hannah Boulton Rizza Salon OC Mei Ella really Toscano Garcia Cameron Sasso Gracie Gerard JC Tyrell Sophia Potter Sarah Hernandez Dakota Anderson Spirit casting crafts Deidre cutshall and killed Coke congratulations that's four years of hard work and something that hopefully will I serve you for the rest of your lies and so just want to make sure everybody where is that what took so long this morning and what I'm going to have to figure out a different way to do is we also want to honor every every month we try to do students of the month by each department this morning my goal is to do that first 5 is March and April kind of combined that took a while so I just want you to know on Monday we have some students of the month are students of the term who done a tremendous job and have some words from their teachers that I want to share out I will make sure that that gets up in some way so we can share them out I still want to I'm a surprise last thing I'll say is we are working next week to set a date where we will have a town hall meeting setting through Google hangouts around our grading policy for myself and our superintendent Rodger McDonald will be answering questions your questions around the grading policy that was put out two weeks ago and the freaking frequently asked questions we just want to make sure we're we're answering or clarify any things that you have so I will get back to you date on Monday as well this video starting to run Lawns but again happy Friday happy May hope this video finds you well I hope to see you soon and I just want everybody to know cuz it's awful in my wife keeps pointing out how bad it is I am Groot mustache it was a dare to grow a mustache until we're done with shelter in place so hopefully we're out of it sooner rather than later when it's safe I'm at the least so that this thing can go away so that you're amazing thanks for all that you do staff thanks for all the hard work prepping them wish you all a great week
