good morning McKinleyville High School happy Friday you may be wondering who is this person that's wishing me a happy Friday well it's me sister call you Friday just in case you didn't recognize me yes I got some glasses are there prescription I'm a little farsighted and I just like everybody else cuz I'm spending more time on on-screen I need to protect the eyes so they make me look a little wiser I hope so happy Friday and great job we we made it we made it to our first week of distance are you feeling before me got better for starting to work out things are working a little smoother and I have a lot to do with our our our staff hard work is hard work and patience as well thank you everybody but I'm glad it's Friday and hopefully real all able to head into the weekend to rest up a little bit so speaking of Friday just a reminder that today is another day of our block scheduling so you have periods for five and six we have the weekend and when you come back on Monday will be periods 1 2 and 3 again so just for those of you who are still thinking about the block schedule as compared to our normal schedule I just wanted to give you that reminder not too much to add my goal on Mondays and Fridays to the post some videos just hopefully with some good information I just to say hello things I'm working on will be working on is just some fun stuff that we can unveil to keep us connected I also thinking about creating some more Town Hall Community meetings as we get into distance learning so we can I get your feedback with all that being said what I want to focus on this morning though is a some words of wisdom I hope you watch mr. Evans Wednesday words of wisdom are there legendary in McKinleyville high school if you haven't watched it please go to our website go under about MHS and good weekly announcements on there he does a great job will have that up everywhere I know that our director of Technology mr. Tim Oliveira has also he's been getting a lot of press lately a lot of screen time was students and staff and he's a very wise man too and so this I reached out to him talking with our community what are some words of wisdom for Friday and so he said I got some perfect words of wisdom for you I wanted to share those with you but I'm going to try and be pre Tech logic and rotate my screen I hope that everybody can see this little bit hard to tell basically hopefully if you can see my screen I got some Raiders news hopefully the NFL's going to have a season I have some spicy drumstick recipes and some corn-on-the-cob recipes but that's not what I wanted to show you what I wanted to show you today folks Tim's words of wisdom wisdom before you do anything else students to get into your classrooms if you're still having problems do you want to go to zoom . Us let me get in there and that brings you to this and so before you do anything else before you get into StudentVue you want to go to zoom. Us and you want to sign-in here's the key thing ignore this email address and password and go straight down to sign in with Google that's good bring you actually it's going to connect with your Gmail school account you're going to click in there and now you are in how you're supposed to be and so when you go to school that is what's going to allow you to have no problems getting into your classes and I know we're working on streamlining there have been streamlining those processes for our teachers as well as our students to make all of it easier to zoom. Us sign in to sign in with Google Skip past the email and password stuff and then you're ready to roll well in his third thing is third Word of Wisdom or line of wisdom was just make sure as were in our Zoom classroom they were being appropriate time to talk with teachers I got to tell you that they said things have been going really well and enjoyed seeing our students all of your faces and so I think we're doing a good job but I do you know Zoom is new for all of us there's directions Lake screens and backgrounds and drawing things and we want to use all those tools to our advantage to help make our experience great in your experience great if we're not using them correct we have to lock those down which basically can mean that you end up with just like me talking at you and you can't do anything about it you can't unmute yourself you can't chat you're just sitting there listening and as much as I like to hear myself talk I know that that would be born forever keep up the good work with make sure we're doing a good job in the zoom in not being a distraction for anybody and just know all in all acting with Panther Pride once again it's good seeing you all happy Friday have a great weekend will talk more on Monday
